Recent 70 Park Avenue Kimpton Review: "The hotel was booked for us as part of a surprise trip . It was chosen with care to suit our needs and fulfilled every one of them The location is ideal - just a short walk from Grand Central Station with a variety of restaurants in the area - ideal for a meal on the way back to the hotel in the evening if we decided on an early night, after pounding  the streets all day! Proximity to Grand Central meant the whole city was in easy reach, with Times Square just an easy walk away. We had a front facing room on the 7th floor looking out on a wide, attracive street. It was a busy route and, although there was traffic noise, it was all part of the city atmosphere. On arrival,we were greeted by a cheerful bell-hop who welcomed us and took our luggage. Checking in was quick and easy - the two receptionists were very welcoming - not just to the hotel but to New York. We discerned a pride in their hotel and in their city. On learning that our trip was a celebration, we were without hesitation given a complimentary bottle of wine and breakfast tokens for the duration of our stay. Our room was easy to locate and was a generous size as was the bathroom. An added bonus was a bath as well as shower. We had a minor problem tuning in the TV - at our request a maintenance man came and sorted it straight away, stating that he would arrange access to a complimentary film as recompense for the inconvenience. As with the receptionists, the staff seemed empowered to deal with issues on the spot and, at all levels, were trained in excellent customer service Our bed was extremely comfortable, tolietries provided and there was excellent hotel information telling us how we could access anything we might need. The mini bar was well-stocked and in-room wifi was an added and much appreciated bonus.The standard of cleaning was high and we returned each evening to prisitine conditions. At breakfast, we experienced a warm welcome each day and excellent service from all the restaurant staff. The qua"
