Recent Belvedere Hotel Review: "It is almost impossible to find a hotel room that is affordable within a few blocks of Broadway. I stayed at another "affordable" hotel a few weeks ago that was about $100 less per night (you don't get what you don't pay for). Boy was I glad to pay the extra to stay at the Belvedere. At last I found a hotel I'll be staying in for trips to come.
Of course we could not check in before lunch. They do provide this service (for a fee), but it is just as easy to leave your bags with a friendly bellhop and "pre-register," which we did and off to lunch we went and to a matinee. By the way, restaurant row is a quick 3 or 4 blocks away. Nice.
After our matinee, we checked in. I asked for a "quiet room" -- difficult to manage anywhere near the theater district. Yet, the hotel obliged as much as they could and put us up on the 9th floor at the end of a hall. For someone like me who has insomnia, this small gesture was so appreciated. Our room was extremely quiet.
When I and my two girls walked into our room we were surprised by how large and bright the room was. And for the price and location! Wow. Small things count, too... I have to say that the soap and shampoo was some new luxury brand I have never used -- better than what I've found at the Ritz. The soap is made from "blood oranges" and smells DIVINE. We used the small face bar so we could take the larger (bath) bar home!
Our walk to the evening performance was again only 3 or 4 blocks. The location of this hotel cannot be beat. Check-out is a friendly noon time, which you appreciate when you've been up at night enjoying a late performance.
The rooms have a cute little kitchenette, which we knew about in advance so we brought some coffee, etc. We did not take advantage of the hotel's breakfast buffet, although I am sure it was probably quite delicious. We just wanted to sleep in and then get to the train station.
Of course this hotel is also quite convenient to the subway too -- 1-2 blocks to the blue line and I beli"

| Overview |

If you're looking for a classic New York experience, consider a stay at the Belvedere Hotel. Situated in a 1920s Art Deco building in Midtown Manhattan, the Belvedere is only 2 blocks from the Theatre District and Times Square, where you can enjoy live Broadway performances. Take a bite of the Big Apple at the famed Restaurant Row, also 2 blocks away from the hotel. Fortunately, you won't have to wander far from the Belvedere if hunger strikes. The hotel is home to the Churrascaria Plataforma, Brazilian-style steakhouse known for its all-you-can-eat meats, salad, and sides. At the table, each diner receives a dual-sided disk: with green side up, waiters will slice cuts of beef, pork, and salmon; when you have your fill, turn the disk red side up to stop the flow of food. Be sure to pace yourself as the restaurant is also known for its decadent desserts. After dinner or a long day of sightseeing, unwind in your Hotel Rooms and watch the high-definition LCD TV, or check your email using the hotel's wireless Internet (available for a surcharge, though Internet is included in the rate for Executive rooms). Prepare a snack in your in-room kitchenette, or order in from room service. In the morning, you can head down to the Belvedere Café for a Continental breakfast or American breakfast buffet. The hotel also offers full service concierge, and 24-hour fitness center. Self parking and valet parking are available for a surcharge.

| A short guide to Midtown |
|
Some of NYC’s best-known landmarks are north of 14th and south of 59th—or Midtown Manhattan. Here, couples kiss atop the Empire State Building. Grand Central Station’s opal-faced clock is a famed meeting spot. While fortunes are made on Wall Street, fortunes are spent at Fifth Avenue’s shops. Other highlights include Madison Square Garden, the United Nations, and the Garment and Diamond districts.
