BROADWAY - TIMES SQUARE OVERVIEW
This intersection of Broadway and 7th Avenue (between 42nd and 47th Street) is one of the busiest places on the planet. Often referred to as the "Crossroads of the World", Times Square has achieved the status of an iconic world landmark and is recognized around the globe.
Times Square isn't all theatres and bright lights though the myriad theaters & fluorescents are impressive enough. 46th Street has earned its name as Restaurant Row. Whatever your flavor, you'll find it there. Wander over to 9th Avenue for local bargains on a variety of goods. If you need a place to rest, go to the heart of Times Square and grab a perch on a red glass staircase that leads nowhere. It's the perfect place to watch the center of the world!
For HALF-PRICED Theater Tickets, visit the TKTS Booth on 47th Street and 7th Avenue (at Duffy Square). TKTS sells unsold tickets ON THE DAY of performance for all Broadway shows for 25-50% off the box office price plus a $3.00 service charge per ticket. The electronic signs in front display what shows are available for that day. TKTS ONLY accepts cash and traveler's cheques. Get there early! Lines can get long very quickly - especially during good weather and the holiday season!
