| This is certainly a hostel, not a hotel. With that in mind, the quality is just fine. I stayed in a private room. The room is very sparse, with a bed, a sink, a shelf and not much else. There is a TV, but it's worthless with no cable or digital tuner. I used it as a clothes rack. My room had a lovely view of West End Avenue. The shared bathroom down the hall was cleaned every day, and there is free wifi on the ground floor. It is a short walk to shops and restaurants on Broadway and to the 103 St. station of the 1 Train.
If you want a luxury hotel, this place is not for you, but if you want to pay as little as possible for a place to sleep and shower at the end of an action-packed day in the city, I would certainly recommend this place. |

| The room served its purpose. It was much better than I expected and we really just slept and showered there. The receptionist was friendly. |

| We booked a room for four but got two rooms and had too split up. It was fine for two days but i wouldn't want to stay any longer. |

| Sink was clogged, but fixed by hotel right away after I asked. Bed had springs that were almost coming out. This should have been checked regularly and replaced as soon as the problem is known.
Very quit neighborhood and very close to subway and many restaurants. |

| Staff didn't respond to my pre-stay request for parking garage locations. Paper supplies not well-stocked in the shared bathrooms. Not very clean, but looks like they are working on repainting and upgrading. |

| The hotel staff were polite and friendly, but the building was old and seemed poorly maintained. I found my bed to be somewhat lumpy and wondered how often bathrooms and hallways were cleaned.
Overall, however, I was outside enjoying New York and attending a conference, so the hotel served its purpose: i.e., giving me a safe place to sleep at night.
But don't expect great comfort. The room was bare: no desk, no chair, only a bed, bedside lamps, and a TV that didn't work. Nevertheless, I'd stay at this place again if I couldn't find a cheaper place.
It is close to the subway (line 1, 103rd st) and only a short walk to Central Park. |

| Air conditioners partially hang from the windows in the middle of winter in this NYC hotel. Thin sheets and a not so clean top blanket insure an even colder night's sleep. Too expensive for the half hearted attempt at a trendy uptown cheap hotel, just cheap instead. Let the buyer beware. |
