Recent Crowne Plaza Newark International Review: "I was looking for a safe hotel close to the Newark airport, with a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel - as I would have no transportation while there. I had to work in Manhattan the next day, and was then flying out. Be sure to take the tram to P3 from the airport, thats where the hotel shuttles are. The shuttle driver arrived shortly, and was extremely friendly. The neighborhood around the hotel is a typical inner city neighborhood. Dont expect more, and you wont be dissapointed. However, there were two hotel doormen outside, the inside of the hotel is modern, attractive, clean, and every staff member was great. My room was clean, decent size. The best part was the hotel has those improved beds, with the feather toppers, big comforter, all the pillows, etc. It was the best nights sleep I've had in a long time. Large, flat screen tv, decent cable, nice desk. The room was relatively quiet (typical hotel noises.) I had room service, the 1/2 chicken. The staff was again friendly, and my meal was better than mid-restaurant level, and nicely garnished, etc. The portions were huge, but the entire meal and drink did come in at $30 with tip. I used the wake up call service and had arranged when checking in for them to have a car for me the next morning to take me to Manhattan. Well...be prepared to pay $90 plus tip for a towncar into Manhattan. This is no fault of the hotels, its the going rate - just be aware of it, and most only take cash. My only complaint was that the water in my room did not get very hot. I could have called maintenence, asked for a different room, etc, but it was tolerable and I was tired. Everything else was great, and I would definitely stay in this hotel again."
