Recent Doubletree Guest Times Square Review: "This is a great location and fantastic rooms. Wea€™ve stayed at the Marriott Marquis just across the street, but the Doubletree is now my preferred accommodations. There is a living room w/flat screen TV & desk, a bedroom with flat screen TV, large bathroom and small kitchenette w/ fridge, microwave, coffee maker and sink. We did not have the dining room table as some of the pictures show. The kitchen area was priceless when it came to quick breakfast foods for the kids or leftovers from restaurants. (Try Juniors for TRULY FABULOUS FOOD! a€“ never had a dish I didna€™t lovea€¦ have even eaten there twice in one day!) NY is known for small rooms and narrow hallways leading into the rooms. This hotel is spaciousa€¦ hallways and rooms.
Front desk is helpful, friendly and nice - right down to the warm cookies at check-in!. We were stuck in NYC due to Hurricane Irene (Aug/2011) when the airports were shut down. The storm was coming and everyone was worried. All stores in Times Square and almost all of NYC were closed! Imagine that! The news was warning of power outages. The hotel issued a letter to all guests reassuring us that they had our safety in mind a€“ had plenty of water and most importantly had backup generators ready to supply the building with power, INCLUDING the ELEVATORS! In speaking to Jimmy (the doorman), he reassured me that everything was going to be fine. He is so helpful from food recommendations to subway directions. In the end, the Hurricane by-passed NYC, but it was good to have the reassurance of our safety.
The TKTS booth is right in front of the hotel. The line was insanely long, so I had to use the concierge. They were priced a higher, but they got me the BEST seats for Mary Poppins. We sat right where Mary flies!
I recommend this hotel for many reasons. The rooms are spacious and family friendly. The location is perfect for all the fun things in Times Square. Ita€™s walking distance to all the subway stops, Rockefeller Center, Central Park, Radio City Mu"

| Overview |
|
Perfect for a family vacation, this all-suite hotel rises 45 stories amid the dazzle and excitement of Times Square, Crossroads of the World. Catch a Broadway hit at one of the dozens of famous theaters within a half-mile. (Swing by the Times Square TKTS booth across the street to pick up day-of-performance tickets discounted up to 50 percent. The wait is sometimes long, but patience pays off.) You can also take the kids to the gigantic Toys "R" Us flagship store, 2 blocks away. This 110,000-square-foot extravaganza features a 60-foot working Ferris wheel, a 2-story Barbie doll house, and a 34-foot-long animatronic T-Rex--plus every imaginable toy and game. Rockefeller Center's Top of the Rock Observation Deck, Radio City Music Hall, and the elegant shops of Fifth Avenue are all within a 10-minute walk. A warm welcome at Check-In includes complimentary, freshly baked chocolate-chip cookies. And the big, comfortable, 2-room suites are a welcome retreat after a day of sightseeing and shopping. You might be in the middle of the action, but the suites are surprisingly quiet. Each has 2 LCD TVs--1 in the bedroom and 1 in the separate living room--which means no wrangling over the remote. Cook up some popcorn in the microwave, grab a chilled drink from the mini-fridge, and settle down to watch your favorite HBO show. You can also surf the Web via wireless Internet access, available for a surcharge in your suite and complimentary in the lobby. Your pet (up to 60 pounds) is welcome. And with the smoke-free policy, everyone--including your furry friend--can breathe easy. Enjoy a restful night's sleep with Doubletree's signature bedding, including plentiful pillows, a down duvet, and a plush-top mattress. The sofa bed in the living room folds down easily, and the suite has blackout curtains, so the bright lights of Broadway needn't dazzle you at 3 AM. Plug your MP3 player into the clock radio, and wake up to your own tunes. Ginger's, the Doubletree's casual restaurant, offers a hearty breakfast buffet each day, and in-suite suite dining is available from early morning till late evening.

| A short guide to Midtown |
|
Some of NYC’s best-known landmarks are north of 14th and south of 59th—or Midtown Manhattan. Here, couples kiss atop the Empire State Building. Grand Central Station’s opal-faced clock is a famed meeting spot. While fortunes are made on Wall Street, fortunes are spent at Fifth Avenue’s shops. Other highlights include Madison Square Garden, the United Nations, and the Garment and Diamond districts.

| Recreation |
|
Doubletree's fitness center features state-of-the-art equipment by Precor. If outdoor exercise is more your style, head 12 blocks north--about a half-mile-- to Central Park, where miles of trails offer fantastic views of the surrounding skyscrapers. You can also rent a bicycle or rowboat at the park's Loeb Boathouse. In wintertime, join the fun at the Rockefeller Center's world-famous ice-skating rink, just 2 blocks from the hotel.
