Recent Econo Newark International Review: "If you are traveling into Newark International they have a shuttle to pick you up at the airport at no charge. This is worth the stay in itself. They have free shuttle back to the airport which will take you to trains, busses etc. that you can easily get into New York City. I have stayed twice and find it a great location with very friendly staff when traveling to the New York area at a great price."

| If all you need is somewhere to put your head then this hotel is ideal. It is a typial motel which is badly in need of upgrading. The decor and furnishings had not been changed since it was first built would be my guess. However, you get what you pay for and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast in the morning was adequate and 5 mins from the airport was a bonus. |

| For my purpose of getting a cheap hotel, this suited me fine. However, I did have the following complaints.
(1) I waited over 40-45 mins. for their complimentary shuttle to pick me up from the Newark airport. I couldn't figure out why it took the shuttle so long (the hotel is less than 10 mins. away); I had to call them again, at which point they said they'd resend the shuttle.
(2) Although you get a free breakfast at the next door diner, unfortunately it doesn't open until 7 AM, & b/c I needed to leave for the airport at 7 AM, I couldn't take advantage of the breakfast offer. |

| The hotel was cheap and offered a free shuttle to the nearby Newark airport. Breakfast was a voucher to a diner within walking distance, which was appreciated. The room was a bit small and claustrophobic but otherwise what we expected for the price. |

| Positives:
-Great wireless internet. No hassle logging on. Much better than the wired crap.
-Very clean.
Negatives:
-Could not find parking late at night.
-TV had a crappy picture. |

| Although it is the least expensive room close to the Newark Airport, I am surprised that the Econo Lodge chain is willing to keep their name associated with it. It is in serious need of a redo but unfortunately its location in a light industrial neighborhood probably precludes this as its only competitive edge is its low price.
I took the room as it was about 18 dollars less than the next alternative and traveling by myself I figured that the one night in the sad room wouldn't kill me but I would not have stayed there if I was traveling with family or for more than one night.
But in all fairness, the sheets were clean, the shower had hot water and the shuttle bus left on time and for me with a 7 am flight only needing a room for 6 hours it was enough.
The survey asked if I would recommend the hotel - I answered no but if I was traveling alone and money was a determining factor than I would change my answered to a reserved yes. |

| This hotel, for the price, was very good. I just wanted a place to sleep in between my trips. The hotel staff, especially the shuttle driver were very courteous and friendly. It wasn't in the best of neighborhood, but I didn't feel unsafe. They have a restaurant on the premises and they have a free breakfast in the moring from certain hours. I would definitely recommend this hotel. |

| This hotel is in a ok neighborhood, but the hotel staff, especially the shuttle driver, were very courteous and nice. The hotel room was kind of old, but for what I paid for, it was good. They have a restaurant on the premises and in the morning, they have free breakfast starting @ 5 am to I don't know what time it ends. I would recommend it. |
