Recent Hampton Times Square North Review: "I'm almost hesitant to give such a good review for the Hampton Inn, because I'm afraid the word will get out, and it won't remain such a great deal. I thought the reviews must be "padded" before I stayed here, because everyone said it's so nice. IT REALLY IS! My stay began with a really friendly girl at the front desk - I forget her name now, but  she was there when I checked out also. Very professional, but also genuinely friendly. It was the beginning of what were to be multiple friendly, helpful encounters with the hotel staff. It's as if someone came along and said to everyone who works there, "Let's really, really try and make an extra effort to hire nice friendly staff. And let's treat our guests as we'd like to be treated." Even the housekeeping staff were nice and friendly (I left them a tip in my room when I left). I guess one of the keys to having genuinely happy staff, is to have a well run hotel, so there is nothing for guests to complain about. The Hampton Inn does that really well. Anything I asked them for, they were able to take care of. There is free coffee downstairs in the lobby, all day and all night, constantly replenished in Thermos dispensers, so it doesn't "cook." Decaf and regular, as well as an extensive choice of teas. There is also a coffee machine in the room, with decaf and regular, changed daily. They'll give you extra if you need it too. The elevators are fast to get up and down the floors. I only did the free breakfast once, as I'm not much of a morning person. It's 7AM-10AM. I arrived about 9:30AM - peak time - and it was easy to get food and a table. It was all very fresh and nice. The omelette was particularly good - I had two! There is also a parking garage literally next door. It is not part of the hotel, but they have an agreement with them and you get about 25% off with a validated ticket. I can;t imagine why anyone would want to drive in Manhattan, but I did! I had an emergency crop up and I needed to hire a car and dri"
