| Great location, friendly staff & overall nice environment. However, there was basically no water pressure. The shower was very disappointing. |

| Hotel Location is superb, staff is very friendly. Rooms are large and has kitchen facilities. Bathroom is very small. Main problem is that the internet access at this hotel is very poor. The say they have Wireless throughout the hotel but most of the time it does not work and when it does is very slow. If you are like me that need to be connected to internet all the time, this is not your hotel.
One good thing is that when I complained about my problem they install me a special internet line to my room which was quite OK during the rest of my stay. I was without the service the first 24 hours or so but after that, it was fine, slow but worked.
I do not know if they will do the same to every guest because it was a big job. Hopefully they can correct that problem in the near future, if they do, I would not hesitate to stay there again. |

| Everyting was excellent at this hotel. My only complaint is that last day Internet in the room did not work. They did their best to fix the problem but did not work. They offered me acces to business center where I could have access to it.
On top of that, staff is very friendly and the location of this hotel is the best in NYC. |

| In the middle of NY's shopping and entertainment area (Madison Avenue and 62rd) the Helmsley is a real find. A combination of condos and hotel, the service is great, the staff friendly and the room large and well equipped. There is a full size kitchen, if you plan to stay for long periods. Room was a junior suite with king bed, plenty of closet space, flat screen tv and dvd player. Room looked newly decorated and very clean. Bathroom was small, with only a shower...which was the only negative.
The valet parking was helpful. There is a courtyard where they keep your car if you are taking it in and out. Close to Barney's (next door), Central Park, 5th Avenue and Bloomingdales'. Madison Avenue is a beautiful area, and it is worth walking uptown and taking in the very chic boutiques. A little out of the way if you have meetings on the west side...but in the thick of it if you are shopping and museum going. (Metropolitcan at 81st, Guggenheim and other close by). Also buses and subways are convenient if you don't want to walk or take a cab. |

| hotel staff was very helpful especially since i needed a room to host a variety of meetings. They allowed me to check in the room at noon and upgraded me upon request. The staff was very friendly and outgoing. This is part hotel and part residence and many famous people could be in the elevator with you. |

| Renovated apartment house. Large suites. Decor is rather pre-war. Would stay there again. |

| The Helmsley Carlton House is in a terrific location. The rooms are large and the lobby area is small but pleasant. While the bed was quite comfortable, the decor was quite dated and the bathroom was small. Our room had a small kitchen, which for extended stays might be useful. All in all, a good value. |
