Recent Hotel Chandler Review: "If you want a very clean, comfortable, quiet place that's out of the Times Square tourist hub bub, then Hotel Chandler is an excellent choice -- particularly if you can get a reduced price. The staff, from maids to doormen, are personable, friendly and helpful. They don't have a concierge, but front desk personnel offers a list of top-rated restaurants within walking distance and will book reservations for you. Off the lobby there is a free 24-hour coffee bar, and small living room with comfortable seating around a fire place, and a communal computer with free internet connection. The rooms are small, and closet space is limited to 1 or 2 small wardrobe units, depending on what room you receive. The queen beds are comfortable and furnished with down-filled duvets and 5 pillows. The showers have a rain head, so if you want to keep your hair dry you'll need to use one of the complimentary shower caps. The room also includes a desk, mini-bar and complimentary daily NY Times. Hotel guests seem to arise and leave their rooms between 8 and 9. Sleeping later requires blocking out the noise of slamming doors and talk in the hall (earplugsr). The thing most overheard was friendly hellos from customers to the hotel staff. The later in the morning I waited to get ready the less hot water I had...it was never cold, but not the stinging, steamy, skin-scalding hot I prefer. At night time I never experienced an absence of very hot water. The hotel serves a breakfast buffet of coffee, juice, fruit, yogurt, cereal, eggs, pastries, and bacon for $16. If you're watching your pennies, you'll better to go around the corner to Miss K's where a bagel with cream cheese is $1.75 and a full buffet is $7. Our party of 4 varied in age from 82 to 7 years. We all agreed, when returning to NY, we would stay at Hotel Chandler again."
