Recent Hotel Metro Review: "I am a frequent traveler and New York is a regular destination. This hotel is better for the money as any in town - and I've stayed in many. The lobby is comfortable and front desk help is first class. The room was small compared to other cities but not for New York. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, the amenities were all one should expect.  The bathroom was a good size and the bath/shower functioned perfectly. The heater/AC unit was a bit noisy but tolerable. Breakfast was included in the rate and is a more than an ample one with bagels, yogurt, oatmeal, fruit, fruit salad and 24 hour coffee and tea service. And in NY that is a real saving. Most of all, it was quiet, a great night's sleep. Given that it is located within a stone's throw of the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, Macy's department store and Penn Station, that's saying a lot. The Broadway attractions are a ten minute walk and there are countless restaurants and entertainment venues surrounding the area. This hotel will be my regular home away from home whenever I am in NY. I could not recommend it more."

The Hotel Metro's Art Deco lobby is enhanced with black and white photographs of actors from Hollywood's Golden Era. The independently operated hotel opened in 1901, but has been updated to include modern amenities, including complimentary Internet access.
