Recent Kitano New York Review: "I booked the hotel as part of a luxury evening get-away with my wife new year's eve 2011. The hotel was fantastic. It was on the pricey side from my perspective but for NYC I think it was competetive. The room was quiet, the hallways carpeted and quiet too. Decor was simple and tastefully done. We had a King bed room overlooking Park Ave to church across  the street. Small but nothing out of the ordinary for the city. Nice touches with room safe, heated towel bar, terry cloth bath robe, marble tile bath, plush bedding (and clean). We needed an iron and housekeeping was quick to deliver. I needed to store an ice pack in the hotel freezer and the front desk accomodated. Front desk people were polite and hospitable. Only disturbance was some all night partyer's leaving the hotel and waiting for a cab at 6am curbside. We had the window cracked open for fresh air (it was a mild evening) but as soon as I closed it the loud mouths below were muted."

Or about savoring delicate kaiseki dishes in a tatami room at Nadaman Hakubai, one of 2 onsite restaurants. The hotel also offers complimentary access to the New York Sports Club--one location is conveniently situated steps from the Kitano.

Your Hotel Rooms is an oasis of understated sophistication--soft caramel tones, Japanese art, and plush bedding. Plan your next day's itinerary via wireless and wired high-speed Internet access (surcharge). The marble bathroom is a soothing retreat, with cozy robes, towel warmers, and Gilchrist & Soames amenities.
