Recent Lombardy Review: "At the risk of repeating, this is not a standard hotel but a building of high-quality condos that are rented out when the owners don't need them. They all have full but small kitchens. The establishment has all the standard hotel amenities, except a lobby lounge temporarily (see below). Our main concern when staying at hotel in a big city is noise. This place is extremely QUIET and actually restful. We had a King Suite that was very spacious and well-appointed, especially the bathroom. The staff were gracious and responsive; housekeeping was great. This is a high-class place all around. The neighborhood is reputable (between Park and Lexington, not far from Central Park) and quiet (by NYC standards). Why would one stay in a standard hotel in the Times Square area when you can stay here for a similar pricer The Italian restaurant across the street is excellent. The lobby is under construction (behind a wall; we never heard any noise), so there is no lobby lounge at present, but we didn't care about that. Parking is less expensive than typical for good quality NYC hotels. A gem."

| A short guide to Midtown |
|
Some of NYC’s best-known landmarks are north of 14th and south of 59th—or Midtown Manhattan. Here, couples kiss atop the Empire State Building. Grand Central Station’s opal-faced clock is a famed meeting spot. While fortunes are made on Wall Street, fortunes are spent at Fifth Avenue’s shops. Other highlights include Madison Square Garden, the United Nations, and the Garment and Diamond districts.

| Overview |
|
A prestigious Midtown location, gracious service, and surprisingly spacious rooms--you'll find all this and more at The Lombardy. This small hotel is just off elegant Park Avenue, with some of the city's most notable shopping tantalizingly close. Fifth Avenue, a 5-minute walk, is lined with world-renowned retailers like Tiffany & Co., Saks Fifth Avenue, and Bergdorf Goodman. Surprise your kids with a toy from FAO Schwarz, at Fifth Avenue and East 58th Street. Then walk 1 block farther to Central Park--pure fun for all ages. Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral, the Museum of Modern Art…they're all within a 10-minute stroll. If you're venturing farther afield, you can catch a subway less than 4 blocks away. The Lombardy was built in 1926 by publishing magnate William Randolph Hearst, and its pedigree shows from the moment you arrive. You'll be welcomed by uniformed door staff and whisked up to your room by a white-gloved elevator attendant. The staff even includes a tailor and a valet. Start your day with a complimentary continental breakfast, served in the Martini Bistro. Later, the bistro provides a sophisticated setting for light bites, wine, and cocktails, including, of course, a selection of martinis. The Lombardy's hair salon and fitness center can help you look and feel your best. You can stay in touch with complimentary wireless Internet access, available throughout the hotel. No laptop? No problem. The business center is available 24 hours a day. Your Hotel Rooms's size will be generous--and so will the amenities. Stash your luggage in the walk-in closet and relax in front of the HDTV, which comes with premium cable channels, including HBO. You can whip up a snack in the kitchenette area--it includes a microwave, refrigerator, and dishes. Plush terry bathrobes help you relax in style. Telephones come with voice mail, but you can also opt to have your messages delivered by the bellhop. Some rooms have been equipped for the convenience and accessibility of disabled guests.
