Recent Mark Review: "The MARK is in my opinion the BEST Hotel in the Manhattan-Upper East Side area of NY! I have been coming to NY since I have been 17 years old and I can say that this is by far...the BEST in all of NYC! From the UNIQUE and ACCOMODATING refrigerated BAR to the cleanliness of the room and the fantastic WATER PRESSURE in the shower and bath areas! THE bathroom  was the best I have experienced! Room service was great! Lounge was wonderful! Reception and Employees VERY accomodating and receptive to all of our needs! LOVE this HOTEL and will only plan to stay HERE in the future! THANKS for the GREAT STAY!!! Worth every penny! Custtomer SERVICE is not dead in America! Come to the MARK to experience it at its finest!"

Recreation

Well-known New York personal trainer John Sitaras designed The Mark's 24-hour fitness center. You'll find a carefully curated selection of cardio machines and strength equipment. Talk to the concierge to arrange time with a personal trainer.

Spa information

Get gorgeous without leaving the hotel. Frédéric Fekkai, one of the world's most famous hair stylists, has a salon at The Mark, where you can indulge in hair and beauty services, or take your pick from a full menu of manicures and pedicures.

A short guide to Central Park

Buildings crane above one another to claim views of Central Park, a piece of real estate valued at more than $528 billion. Surprises abound in its 843 acres. The grounds include a castle, a zoo, several lakes, and an Egyptian obelisk. A city that never sleeps needs its quiet time, too: Central Park has six designated “quiet zones,” including Strawberry Fields, the monument to John Lennon.

  • Overview

Enjoy the good life at The Mark. Situated on Madison Avenue at East 77th Street, steps from Central Park, this 5-star luxury hotel offers you the best of the Upper East Side's effortless sophistication. Nestled among famed cultural (and retail) institutions, The Mark sits just 2 blocks from the Whitney Museum, and 6 blocks from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where you can browse the work of European masters. The locale also delivers if you favor sartorial masterpieces, with Missoni just across Madison, Michael Kors a block south, and Christian Louboutin and Carolina Herrera both within 2 blocks.

Delighting both fashionistas and Francophiles, this boutique hotel marries French elegance with contemporary New York style. Housed in a handsome 1927 Beaux Arts building, The Mark was renovated head-to-toe in 2009 by French designer Jacques Grange (whose clients include Karl Lagerfeld, Yves St. Laurent, and Princess Caroline of Monaco). Bold, innovative design features prominently in public spaces (think vivid, black-and-white striped floors in the lobby), while Hotel Rooms offer a more tranquil feel.

Acclaimed French cuisine is on the menu, too. The Mark Restaurant, headed by Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, serves European fare made with ingredients fresh from the market. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are on offer daily, and you can stop by midday for afternoon tea. (Vongerichten also created the room-service menu, available 24 hours.) Before dinner, get glamorous at Frédéric Fekkai, one of this exclusive salon's few U.S. locations. Also helping you look and feel your best: a fitness center designed by fitness guru John Sitaras.

Hotel Rooms at The Mark exude understated elegance. From your bed, layered with posh Quagliotti linens, you can control the temperature, lighting, and entertainment via a touch-screen panel. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel. Relax with a movie on the 32-inch Bang & Olufsen TV with Blu-ray player. A black granite bar includes a Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer drawers where you can stow treats. Gorgeous, Art Deco-style bathrooms have black-and-white marble floors, heated towel racks, deep soaking tubs, and separate showers.
