Recent Marriott Downtown Review: "I recently stayed at the New York Marriott Downtown and it was the best hotel stay I have ever had. The service was excellent from everyone. The rooms were spacious, luxurious and I had an excellent view of the Statue of Liberty from my room. My room was on the 26th floor but the elevator took me there with no difficulty. The only negative I experienced  was that the front desk attendant did not inform me that to get to my room, I had to take a certain elevator to the right floor because some of the elevators go from floors 1-17 and no further. The one I had to take went from 1-5 and then skipped to 17-38. But that is the only negative. The restaurant and bar, 85 West Bar and Grill, was wonderful. It was fairly priced and the menu was terrific. They also offer room service until 1 am which is good considering this neighborhood is not full of restaurants or bars. The location could be a little better but it is only a two block walk to the Rector Street subway station which takes you uptown in no time. There is also a Starbucks on the property which is ideal for a coffee fanatic like me. It is only a four block walk to Battery Park to catch the ferry to the Statue of Liberty. And the staff was exceptional at getting me where I needed to go and pointing me in the right direction. Overall, this was a top notch hotel and worthy of the high praise it receives. I will definitely recommend this to anyone travelling to NYC in the future and will have this on my list of hotels to stay at whenever I am in NYC in the future."
