Recent Michelangelo Hotel Review: "We knew that staying in NY would be expensive, so we were determined to at least feel that our money was well spent - and was it. Everything was fabulous - from the large room with couch and chair (huge by NYC standards), to the comfortable bed, to the great coffee in the morning. A couple of things that I feel that they should update as long as they charging so much for the rooms - internet access should be complimentary instead of 9.99/day (seems a bit petty) and wish that they had updated the quality of the TV. But these are such minor things really. The room was relatively quiet considering we stayed on the third floor above all the street noise from the times sq/theatre district. So much to do - we had access to everything from great restaurants to shows to subways etc. A tip for anyone staying in the area - make sure you eat at some of the local restaurants - like Sosa Borella. We got tired one night, it was late, and just wanted something easy - went to TGI FRidays. That was a huge mistake - terrible waitstaff and food and not inexpensive. So it is worth it to walk one or two blocks off the beaten path to try something different where the locals eat. (Try walking over two blocks to 9th and 51st - hotel is located on 51st /7th - Vnyl is a good place, a little loud, but funky and fun. All along 9th you will find restaurants where the locals eat). This vacation was the best vacation that I have ever had, and I am a big traveler. A huge part of that was the fact that we could relax and regroup at the hotel - destress, decompress, sleep in and get pumped for another day. I highly recommend this hotel if the cost doesn't kill you."
