Recent Milford Plaza Times Review: "After reading other reviews about this hotel before booking, I was concerned about the overall quality. We were pleasantly surprised when we checked in by how wonderful everything was! We lucked out and had a corner room w/ windows facing two different streets. I don't know if it was because we had a queen bed as opposed to 2 twins, but the room was so spacious- I had heard all rooms in NYC are very cramped. Not so, ours! It was incredibly clean; no funky smells, or weird carpet stains. I commented more than once when we got out of the elevator how fresh the hallways were. No dank odors.
The convenience of being one block from Times Square can't be emphasized enough. Everything was mere steps away; a hot dog stand 10 feet from our hotel main entrance, subway entrances on two opposite corners of our hotel's location, a bagel shop 1/2 way up the block for a quick easy bite, and a post office 2 short blocks away for buying postcard stamps to mail home! Then the entertainment! Any Broadway show you want to see is within a few blocks of this hotel, as are the major tour bus stops.
The weather was warm so we left our windows open during the day while we were out, but when shutting them at night- all street noises became muffled and quite tolerable. Even the constant honking and sirens!
I'd say take a chance and book this hotel. I know choosing can be overwhelming because you have no real idea what you're getting. For us, it was absolutely wonderful and I would not hesitate to stay there again. Did I mention the beds are very very comfortabler Fantastic experience! :)"

| Great location ! We must have had the smallest room in the hotel! Too bad it's closing for 2 yrs. for renovations. One block from Times Square,subway accross the street, Loved the elevator system. |

| This hotel is literally within 50 yards walking distance of half a dozen theaters!
Marvelous location. I'd stay here again any time I go to NYC if I could get a room for the price I paid on this trip. |

| The Milford Plaza Hotel is in a great area just a block away from Times Square and right in the middle of the theater district. The beds are comfortable and the security is good (they check to make sure you have your room key before you head to the elevator). There's a business center with plenty of computers for hotel guests to use. Unfortunately, the hotel is closing in December, 2009 for anywhere from 18 months to 2 years while it undergoes a renovation. |

| This is very obviously an old hotel that was upgraded a number of years ago. Room was moderate in size, appointed with standard hotel furniture. Elevator service was very good. Hotel has guards demanding ID in front of elevator banks, which may be a good idea but does cause one to pause and think, "Why do they need to do this? Is there something I should know?" |

| even though the room was quite small the location was incredible and for a good cost! I was thankful they had valet parking, but a little upset that it was forty dollars. Overall my stay was nice and I would recommend the hotel to anyone who wants to stay in Times Square! |

| Milford Plaza hotel in New York is well worth the money you will spend on accommodation.....Ok there is no breakfast or food supplied but the facilities are very good and the rooms are comfortable and well set up....costs of accommodation in the Big A are well known so the price of a room at the Milford is bound to surprise you ... it did me and after we had spent 3 nights there. we realised just how much we had saved overall instead of going to well known but very highly priced hotels. Well positioned close to Times Square and the Theatre District, you could do much worse in a more expensive hotel. Certainly when we return to New York, we will be staying at The Milford Plaza again....you get so much for so little. |

| We booked this hotel for a week, and found it close to Times Square, whilst being relatively cheap (compared to other NY hotels). We were on the 24th floor, facing inwards. We heard nothing from the streets in terms of noise. The room had a double bed, bedside tables, and a set of drawers, in addition to the small cupboard, and bathroom. It wasn't what you'd expect for that amount of monry, but it was comfortable and spacious enough for what we needed it for...and we did have 4 suitcases!There was also working AC, safe and TV in the room. It was cleaned daily, with fresh towels and polite service, so we really can't complain. There are also loads of places to eat nearby, but it's worth venturing further afield to save a few dollars. There was good security on the door and we felt safe, and the bellmen were more than helpful. Don't go here expecting luxury, but the location and price are excellent, and make it worth the sacrifice. |

| Close to all major attractions,could benefit from better double glazing as street noise was bad ,very clean but old.Towels and bedding changed daily.No T/C available even vending machine would help.Would go back just for location. |
