Recent New Helmsley Review: "We (couple) enjoyed staying at the Helmsley very much. The hotel was the base for all our excursions around the city. Conveniently located in walking distance to most places like shopping, entertainment, dining, subway etc. We walked up to 16 blocks, otherwise used the subway and taxi at night.
The room in the 28th floor was large enough with a view to the next office building. The king-size bed was spacious and very clean. The next door 'Pax Wholesome Food' shop had the perfect and affordable breakfast every day. The room safe was convenient. Walking to the hotel at any time seemed to be safe (we returned once at 4:30am).
Check-in/out was quick. Free wireless Internet service was fast, but had a few hickups (couldn't reach Internet at times). The cleaning staff cleaned very thoroughly and did not even leave a glass for us after the second night. The computerized minibar was not for us. It was not even allowed to leave personal stuff in the fridge (sensors are monitoring every item of the minibar).
All in all a very good hotel experience at a reduced price.
The hotel bar (Harry's New York Bar) is now under renovation and was closed the last few days we stayed at the hotel."

| Nice brisk walk to Times Square and Broadway...wear comfortable walking shoes. Traffic sounds below were muffled in our room on the 25th floor, but plumbing noises (toilets, showers) woke us up daily. Business Center charged for computer usage and no 'real' doorman present (we opened doors ourselves). Starbucks, Pax, CVS next door. |

| The hotel lobby is very nice but the rooms are a bit tired. Everything was clean and the staff were friendly. The hotel is closely located to the 42nd street subway station which can get you pretty much anywhere in the city. The room could have been nicer but for the money we found it to be a good value and would stay there again. If you are going to NYC to sightsee and will not be in your room much, this would be a good option. |

| Simply a wonderful hotel with classy surroundings. We felt like we were staying at a much more expensive location.

| Great location in the heart of Mid-town. Two blocks from the UN and two blocks from Grand Central Station. We could see the Chrysler building out of our room window. Not a bad walk to Times Square or anything else in the Midtwon area. Felt safe even late at night. Good value for the cost. Only down side, the NYC taxes on the room are a little shocking, but that is New York. Also they charge by the minute for internet access in the business center where most hotels do not charge at all. Other than that it was a great stay! |

| This hotel although overrun with summer European tourists is still a wonderful business hotel that is convenient to everything that you may need. The room was very well appointed and the Internet worked perfectly. |

| We were just there for one night but the location was amazing. Since we came on the train from Connecticut the hotel was only a 5 minute walk from Grand Central which is why we selected it. We arrived before noon and headed ove to the Helmsley, expecting our room would not be ready, and we would have them hold our bags. To our surprise it was and check in was great, quick, efficient and friendly. Our room was pretty basic, but clean with 2 double beds and a view of the empire state room. Everything needed in a hotel was there- we weren't in our room much, but when we were it was fine. I would definitely stay here again when coming to NY for the weekend. |

| The staff was wonderful, helpful, and extremely pleasant. The room was nice but a little smaller than I thought it'd be.
The hotel robes were a nice touch as well as the wonderful view out of our 32nd story window.
The hotel is near Grand Central Station but a good walk from Times Square. All in all - I definitely would stay there again. |

| This hotel is amazing! Luxurious and I felt quite pampered. There is a lot to do and see nearby. It is about a 20 minute walk to Times Square. Only problem I had was the amount of road noise even on the 28th floor. |

| Very clean and confortable, nice neighnorhood, comfortable rooms, I wa surprised to get such a nice hotel for that price range.
It's a bit far from Times Square though (20 minute walk).

| The hotel offers good value for Manhattan, and a good location. Facilities somewhat dated; for instance (if my room was typical) there are no electrical outlets convenient for use with a laptop or charger.
Modestly sized rooms, but adequate in every way. Very pleasant staff. |
