Recent On The Ave Review: "The range of hotels in New York is enormous and many are not what they proclaim themselves to be; but this one was great! My wife an I drove to NYC and, as many trips, we managed a few time-sucking problems to delay us. We arrived at 10pm and were greeted warmly by desk staff. As a special bonus from the 'gods of travel' we were offered an upgrade  to a large room at no cost. Perhaps they had overbooked the cheapies, don't know, but it was the nicest late arrival present one could imagine. I had read a few negative comments on rooms, but this one had none of that, it was great. Yes I did spot a few dots of mold in the shower grout, but get real, many home have that and in many ways it is almost impossible to eliminate. The only traveler warnings we have is that the entrance to the hotel is actually on 77th. Which means, as a cautionary tale, that the primary parking garage that the hotel uses is across the street from their entrance. Why is that importantr the 24hr parking rate is lower per day, (vy the price of an adult ticket to most museums) than the hotel valet parking fee and all you need to do is roll your own suitcase across the street. And if that lot is full then the next one is only a 100 feet away on the other side of the hotel at 76th street. You can find more garages by searching for 'NYC parking' and looking for 'bestparking' Since the room has a 'through door' to the next room we could hear some of the sounds from the next room, but that can happen anywhere . Wifi costs in the room but is free in the lobby. We enjoyed the hotel and will keep it on our preferred place list."
