Recent Paramount Times Square Review: "My husband and I stayed for one night and I wish we had stayed longer!! For roughly a very cheap rate, and being located literally a stones throw from Times Square... you can't find better! We arrived and walked the 13 blocks from Penn Station, and there were always Doorman there to open our doors. The line was pretty long to check in, and there were people taking up all the seats in the lobby, BUT it did not take long for ladies to come out and promptly apologize for the wait and help out. Once it was our turn, Anamarie was freaking AMAZING. She asked if we'd been to the city before and we hadn't, we were celebrating our anniversary. She gave us cards for free cocktails! And for $13 a cocktail normally, you bet we used them. We were on the 17th floor, and had a pretty gorgeous view. The room is not that small. I mean... I was expecting a pantry sized room, but it fit a queen size bed... I can't quite explain it. Check out the pics I uploaded here. The bed was very comfortable, especially at 1 am when I finally fell into bed! I so did not want to fall asleep but had such a long day I just passed out. There was a flat screen hi def TV in the room (not that we watched much TV!) I wish there had been a bit more counter space (meaning there was almost none) however there were shelves above the toilet to hold all my hair products. :D
The shower is the same size as every other hotel room. I wasn't disappointed. The room was very clean and had a lot of information for touring and included their food menu. You can get delivery to your room, but for a surcharge. We didn't eat breakfast there, but Anamarie offered a $10 off coupon. Trust me, if you are going to eat breakfast there you will want that coupon!! After we settled in, we spoke to the concierge about nice dinner places before seeing The Lion King. He was extremely helpful and set us up with reservations at the View (located at the top floor of the marriott.)
We checked out early the next day and had our bags check"

| Overview |
|
A New York icon since 1928, the Paramount Hotel Times Square has seen a multitude of stars, from Liza Minnelli to Yoko Ono to Daniel Radcliffe, step through its doors. And it's no wonder: This hip hotel combines one-of-a-kind design with a front-row setting for the best of Broadway and beyond. The Paramount is across from the Richard Rodgers Theatre and the Imperial Theater, and a few doors down from the Lunt-Fontanne Theater. You're also just steps from the heart of Times Square, where the huge billboards and around-the-clock crowds create a show of their own. Stop by the Times Square TKTS booth to score discounted tickets for shows across the city. For a pre- or post-theater bite, Restaurant Row is only 3 blocks from the hotel. Radio City Music Hall and Rockefeller Plaza are within one-half mile. Designed by Philippe Starck, the Paramount's buzz-worthy lobby is itself quite a showpiece, with soaring ceilings and a huge, donut-shaped chandelier dripping with crystals. An eye-catching asymmetrical silver-leaf staircase leads to the Mezzanine Restaurant. The newly restyled Paramount Bar, a see-and-be-seen hotspot, features golden Murano glass fixtures, scarlet-velvet banquettes, and a rotating roster of DJs. For a quieter option, you can sip a cocktail and plan your next day's adventures in the plush Library Bar. Or pick up a gourmet to-go meal from a branch of New York's famous Dean & DeLuca, off the lobby. Just want to kick back and relax? Room service is available early morning till late evening. Kick it up a notch in the hotel's fitness center, where you'll find state-of-the-art cardio and strength equipment, as well as several TVs. A refreshment area is stocked with complimentary bottled water and apples. Heading out? The hotel's city-savvy concierge staff can direct you to all of New York’s must-sees of the moment. Hotel Rooms are compact, but they pack a punch. Pillowtop mattresses are layered with 600-thread-count Egyptian cotton linens and down duvets. The headboards are printed with reproductions of Old Masters paintings. Watch a late-night show on the LCD HDTV, which comes with premium cable channels and access to the hotel’s 1,500-title video library (surcharge). And stay in touch with friends back home via high-speed wired and wireless Internet access, available for a surcharge. With an iPod docking station at your bedside, you can awaken to your own soundtrack.

| A short guide to Midtown |
|
Some of NYC’s best-known landmarks are north of 14th and south of 59th—or Midtown Manhattan. Here, couples kiss atop the Empire State Building. Grand Central Station’s opal-faced clock is a famed meeting spot. While fortunes are made on Wall Street, fortunes are spent at Fifth Avenue’s shops. Other highlights include Madison Square Garden, the United Nations, and the Garment and Diamond districts.
