Recent Park 79 Review: "I booked a standard double room, but ended up staying in the junior suite. For the price difference between the 2 rooms (and from what I read about how tiny the standard double is, shared bathroom, etc.), it is definitely worth it! Private bathroom, spacious living area and separate bedroom. The place is totally clean and pleasant. I was a bit apprehensive  about staying in this place as there were a lot of mixed reviews, so for others, let me address a few of them: 1) "room too tiny" - this is NYC! A friend of mine booked at the W Hotel the same weekend that I was there and was staying in a closet for twice the price of my junior suite. 2) "room too hot" - yes it was, but almost every NYC pre-war building has a radiator that is controlled somewhere else. You can open the windows, and it may be one of the reasons that there weren't any bedbugs around. 3) "unfriendly service" - once again, this is NYC! Could it be that you're not used to the directness of the average New Yorkerr I found the service to be fine. In fact, it could have been so much worse considering that the majority of people that day had lost their reservations due to the snow storm and had to rebook through their travel sites. The hotel waived the no-show fee, which they actually didn't have to do.... 4) "room unclean" - I can only speak for my room, but the junior suite was spotless. Hope this helps!"
