Getting shabbier every time I stay there. I don't expect real luxury for the price but hall carpeting is stained, towels very thin, no kleenex. Biggest problem: smoke detector started beeping at 3:30 a.m. and beeped all night. There was no fire. I stay there twice a year for the convenience, not because I like it.

After reading some negative reviews, I admit I was worried about what I should expect of the hotel - however, once I got there I was pleasantly surprised. I have NO IDEA what others were talking about in their negative reviews (they must be comparing to some 4-5 star resort in some big city), anyway, I thought the place was great for its purpose, quick stop from the airport, perfect for a night or two stay. Price was great! Cafeteria, bar, gift shop & airport shuttle transportation was super convenient. Bed & pillows were actually very comfy. Clean room, relatively clean bathroom (nothing falling apart). Only complaint was the small towels but I was told I could request larger ones at the front desk (I just really didn't care for a 2 night stay). SUPER QUIET, even though it's close to the airport. There is a fee for parking overnight but hey, if you stayed in NYC you would be paying double or triple to park there -- can't complain about that! Overall great place for the money and... for what it's for... a quick stay.

Is cheaper if you take the Bus number 21 direction Newark Penn Station and from there the PATH to Manhattan, the total cost is 3.25 Dollar, is a little bit far, but less expensive

Beds were hard as a rock. The service at breakfast was terrible. One waiter for whole room. And the take out late nite food was cold and terrible.

The hotel is falling apart. Rooms ar cleaned AFTER you leave...NOT while you're therE. WAY UNDERSTAFFED!!! Restaurant had 3 staff to serve over 100 people. Price reflected quality.

Just a couple of comments that would have made the stay a little more pleasant. 1) No facial tissue in the room 2) No coffee pot in the room 3) Dirty face cloth left in shower from past guest 4) No room refreshing during stay. I would stay again if it is only for a few nights, not if for a week.

IOther than price, little recommends this hotel. Biggest complaint, having our room made up had to be REQUESTED! Towel was torn, toilet flushed poorly, door to bathroom didn't have a strikeplate. Only the door molding held it closed. A companion traveler had no lights in her bathroom; even after reporting, was given key to another room "to use that bathroom". The dining room has apparently been discontinued, only a sportsbar was available for meals, plus a kiosk for coffee and snacks. Since the hotel is located away from other amenities and attractions, not having a dining room was a real minus. In the Business center, a computer that I tried to use locked up during my log-in, and could not be re-booted. It remained out of order all during my 3-day stay. Since the current operator has performed so poorly in the less than a year they have run the place, I will be surprised if it survives until my next visit.

The hotel itself was indifferently clean (for the most part), but waiting for the shuttle from EWR--advertised as minutes away--took ages. We never waited less than 45 minutes for the shuttle that they advertise as running every 20 minutes. When I questioned it, I was told that there was no guaranteed timetable, and that traffic was probably to blame. Even though it was after midnight, and it happened four times...yeah.

Comfortable hotel, great shuttle service, I recommend it. We left an awful hotel by the name of Travelodge Newark Airport and came to the Ramada. The Ramada was so much better and had great service and amenities.
