Recent Roosevelt Review: "We couldn't have been more pleased with the Roosevelt Hotel. My wife and I had stayed here years ago, but since then it's had a face lift and it was beautiful, from the spectacular Christmas decor in the lobby to the comfy pillowtop beds, my wife and I would definitely recommend this hotel. We came in to go to the American Girls Place with our three daughters. The experience was very memorable. After the Christmas show at American Girls on Saturday night,we came back to the hotel for a late dinner at the grill. The service of the staff was excellent, from the chocolate puzzle kid's menu to the quality of the food and service. My oldest daughter remarked,"I like him" (speaking of the restaurant manager) who visited our table to make sure we were well taken care of. The next morning, check-out was a breeze and the hotel took care of our luggage and American Girl purchases while we went to the Statue of Liberty. The Roosevelt was first class all the way,the front desk, bellmen, doormen, everybody was first rate. Would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to others. Thank you."

| Great mid-town location to start any NY trip. Elegant lobby and bar. Bathrooms did seem a little small and outdated... but hotel is from 1920's . Good choice |

| This hotel was a great location for us as we needed the subway and Grand Central was a 5 minute walk. Central Park, Rockefeller, St. Patrick's all within 5 or 10 minutes. Walked/ran the park in the mornings.
Depending on what you are looking for in shopping there are many high end and other types of stores.
The down side: the room (cozy double double) just too small and there was only myself and daughter. Closet way too small and bathroom no counterspace. Barely any space to put up the ironing board and then you had to find an outlet. It looked like a King room might have more space so if you are a couple it may work fine. Cannot imagine a family of 4 in a room this size although most hotels in NY have very small rooms.
The TV (which we may have watched all of an hour total in the week we were there) was having major issues with its reception. Pictures breaking up and pausing. Probably cable problems. The AC worked but was very very noisy (and I like white noise to sleep). Unfortunately, this was like a freight train going through the room. A message was left that maintenance checked it and it was what it is - an old AC.
We opted not to have the room cleaned each day. But, on the days that the room was supposed to be cleaned about all that was done was towels replaced and sheets changed. The floor was not vacuumed because there were still crumbs from Magnolia cupcakes on the floor. The water wasn't emptied from the ice bucket, nothing was straightened on the table/dresser. We put our most of things up so no excuse for this. The closet door squeaked horribly. We laughed a lot.
The restaurant wasn't open and not sure why. Bar is nice but kind of small. Rooftop deck was nice but not what I expected.
Overall, this is a decent hotel if you know what you are getting. Location is A+. |

| The people were courteous and its a nice old hotel but my room turned out not so good. A/C did not run very high, it spewed water on the rug and there was no hot water in the morning. I did not tell the hotel til the next morning ( stayed one night and in a hurry in the morning) i was leaving and they said thanks for letting them know. Filled out a card telling them about the problems. It is possible they did not know from the prior guest of the rooms difficulties so I would try it again sometime to give it another chance. Have attended conferences in the hotel and everything has been fine with the exhibit space. |

| I came to NYC for a birthday weekend with friends. When I pulled up to the Roosevelt Hotel in NYC, valet service was offered.Check in was expedient. Douglas (who escorted me to the room and assisted me with the luggage) also had plenty of recommendations of where to go and what to do. The room, although a bit small, was clean and true to it's photos The bed was comfy and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, but were surprised that there was no mini bar or fridge in the room. The rooftop (Mad 26) was an amazing open air club and Sal (who escorted us up) was extremely knowledgable and personable in regards to what to see and do around NY. The staff was very friendly and fun. The cafe area off the lobby served Starbucks and an assortment of wonderful breakfast foods, so we didn't need to venture far at all! I am planning on visiting again in the winter, and will be staying at the Roosevelt. Thank you for making our stay very memorable and fun! |

| Our stay at the hotel was very nice. The staff is always there to help with anything. Even the unusual. The lobby was quiet beautiful. The rooms were ample, but not large. Location is terrific, near Rockefeller Plaza, 5th Avenue and Times Square(a few blocks). |

| The rooms are a little old. The AC did not work well. The front desk staff was not friendly and did not help us to get a room close to a other party. Great location in walking distance to time square. It is worth staying there for the location .... |

| The Roosevelt is a gorgeous hotel. However, despite its beautiful lobby and dining area, its rooms leave quite a bit to be desired. Though the beds are very soft, the rooms and bathroom are all very tiny, and for four people, the room felt very cramped. The decor was cliched hotel-style. All in all, a great hotel and an okay stay experience, but if looking for a truly luxurious experience, skip. It is a dependable hotel and very amicable, and is a safe stay, but not worth the money. |

| This hotel was a few blocks from Grand Central Station, many places were just a short walk away, and the cab rides to museums, theatres and Times Square were quick and in the $7-$9 range. The subway was close, too, just not our cup of tea.
WiFi was not complementary.
The concierge was less helpful than most. So bring your own tour book info.
The neighborhood feels safe.
It is difficult to catch a cab from the hotel. You'll have better luck by walking around the corner.
The bed was very comfortable, and I am very picky about that. The was room small, like most NYC rooms. There was no place to put toiletries in the bathroom and the suitcases had to be put away to pass through the room. The room came with down pillows, room service quickly replaced those with foam pillows at our request.
It is a bit run down, that must be why it was such a relative bargain.
At first we thought the room service menu had outrageous prices, but after 5 days of NYC food prices, we decided they weren't so high after all. We split a late night steak sandwich and it was delicious. |
