Recent Salisbury Hotel Review: "I have never been to NYC, so I didn't know what to expect. I was surprised with what a great location the Salisbury is in, how many subways are nearby, and how nice and clean our room was. Unless you're really wealthy and are used to staying at several-hundred-dollar hotels, you will not be disappointed if you stay here. Central park (south) was around  the corner and up a block. Numerous subway lines were within a block. Across the street is Carnegie Hall and the Russian Tea Room. The breakfast was very fair for a few bucks with lots of breads and cereals, but I really wanted some meat, so we only went there 2 days out of 4 days stay. But no complaints - very convenient. The cleaning lady was very nice and she did a great job. The front-desk people were certainly nice, and we called down for a cork-screw which they brought up with in 5 minutes. They also had the 3-prong ground adaptor since the electrical outlets are "vintage". Necessary for computer power adaptor. I don't want to brag about the size of the room because I think it's kind of random looking at the floor-maps, but we really got lucky and had a separate living room. The street gets noisy by 5am with construction nearby, but certainly nothing that bothered us. There's probably no getting away from it unless you stay at trump on the 30th floor, but then again, it's going to cost you 5x as much. You pay a few bucks a day for wireless internet access, but it is high-quality. I'd rather have this dependability than some free access that no one cares to maintain. I do not know about parking, but if you get a weekly unlimited bus/subway pass, the city is yours. I was happy with a "dial7" hookup for a car (look them up on the web), and you'll get from Laguardia to the Salisbury for less than fifty bucks tolls & tip included. They were prompt and dependable. I'd certainly recommend this place."

Admire the treasures at Tiffany & Co., then walk 1 block farther and let your inner child run free in the world-famous FAO Schwarz toy store. Next door, you'll find Apple's flagship store, located underground and topped with a 32-foot glass cube.

Before heading out for a day of sightseeing, fuel up with the Salisbury's Continental breakfast buffet (surcharge). The hotel does not offer lunch or dinner, but room service is provided by several nearby restaurants. And there's no need to leave your workout routine at home: hotel guests receive discounted access to Gravity Fitness and Spa, located across the street.
