Recent San Carlos Hotel Review: "We chose The San Carlos based on it's location, price and amenities. We were 4 in a one-bedroom suite. All heavy smokers. First, I have never been in a smoking room that smelled like no one had ever smoked there, and that was a great way to start things off. In addition to the ionizer, you could also open the windows, which is a rare treat. The staff was very helpful and seemed genuine and happy. Not stuffy there at all. The room was of a decent size with a comfortable sleeper and a good bed. There were more than enough plush pillows for us all. The kitchenette was well stocked with glasses and dishes. When we asked for a dvd player, it was graciously placed in the room at no additional charge. Though the room comes with a cd/clock radio, music sounds much better when played through the TV. The location was key, as we were going to a show at the Roseland Ballroom. Rockefeller Centre is 2 blocks away. Times Square, Central Park (Columbus Circle), Broadway theatres are all within easy walking distance. I really feel this hotel is a great value in an otherwise expensive area. One more thing---My friends and I partied LOUDLY 'til 7am, and not once did we receive a phone call or a knock at the door. I will definitely recommend the San Carlos to my friends. The only slightly negative thing was the parking fees. Validation could have been more than $30. But, honestly, we could have parked uptown on the street, so it's no big deal."
