Recent St Giles Court Review: "This is a recently renovated hotel on Lexington Avenue, formerly run by the W chain, but since taken over by St. Giles.
Our suite was on the corner of 39th Street and Lexington Avenue. We had purposely asked for a room with a view and boy did we get one. We had a view down 39th Street and the East River through one pair of windows and a view of the Chrysler Building through the other window. An amazing site to wake up to.
This hotel seems to have rooms larger than the New York average. Our suite was very large with two sofas, a recliner, desk and large screen plasma. The quality of the furniture was quite high and was well maintained. We also had a walk-in wardrobe which was perhaps a little small but this was really our only criticism of the room. The wardrobe also has a safe.
The bedroom had the aforementioned stunning views of the Chrysler Building and the East River. The bed was a King size, and there was a second large screen Plasma TV in this room. A nice touch was an iPhone / iPod Touch charger by the bed.
The bathroom had a combined bath and shower. Again this was clean and well maintained. The shower control was a little loose, but it functioned.
We had a couple of small negatives to report. On a couple of occasions we tried to order a Pay Per View sports game on the hotel TV but this didn't function and a call to reception didn't produce the promised engineer to fix it. No great worry because it did allow us to explore the neighbouring bars and were able to watch the game there. Secondly, because the hotel is situated on a reasonably busy road (Lexington Avenue) traffic noise was a bit intrusive. We did consider asking to be moved, but didn't want to give up our views so learned to live with the traffic noise.
Further up 39th St is the sister Tuscany hotel and we were able to use their business centre free of charge to check-in and print the boarding passes for our flight home. Justin on reception was particularly helpful at this hotel helping us wit"

| A short guide to Midtown |
|
Some of NYC’s best-known landmarks are north of 14th and south of 59th—or Midtown Manhattan. Here, couples kiss atop the Empire State Building. Grand Central Station’s opal-faced clock is a famed meeting spot. While fortunes are made on Wall Street, fortunes are spent at Fifth Avenue’s shops. Other highlights include Madison Square Garden, the United Nations, and the Garment and Diamond districts.
