The morning alone gives a single tourist the feeling of being part of the machine, whereas at night, one tourist among many blends in, making the venue feel more like a circus than a modern marvel.

For an experience that most people never care to partake of, passersby enjoying the jumbo television should stop in at Nuts for Nuts, a small cart business that sells hot nuts spiced in a variety of ways. Or for people not inclined to eat nuts, a Bagel shop on W 46th Street called the Broadway Café serves tasty snacks, priced for quality, but enjoyable with a passably local feel to the environment.

The truth about Times Square attractions is that it is the place locals love to avoid. Even in the early mornings it is not quite a local gem, but at least before sunset, it does not crawl with out-of-towners. For the best of local buzz on the streets, carts that sell pizza, nuts and hot dogs are unbeatable. For people-watching, any street corner will do.
