Recent Waldorf Astoria Review: "We booked our two night stay in NY with Hotels.com and I can only say we were blown away by the experience. NY is such an exciting city but to stay in what must be one of it's premiere hotels was an added bonus. We did a lot of searching with different hotels, dates, locations but undoubtedly this was the best-check out the foyer and reception area, the address which is dead centre and must be one of the most exclusive addresses in Manhattan! The staff couldn't have been more helpful and professional. Our room was superb, and as we asked for a view were pleasantly accomodated. As it was a special occasion for my wife and daughter who celebrated birthdays around this time the hotel organized a surprise for them which we drank with a lot of enthusiasm! THe birthday cake and card was also a welcome touch so thanks go to Hotels.com and the Waldorf for making our stay that bit more special! Oh and if you want to eat relatively cheaply there area number of restaurants nearby that cater for all tastes -we found a nice little bistro around the next block which was a great drop in point for the occasional snack or pm coffee. Patronised by the business community so I'd recommend it for value for money. Down side to the Waldorf -nothing I can think of apart from perhaps free wifi in the room -available in the foyer area but had to be paid for whilst your in your room. Apart from that I can only report positive things about our stay which in part was down to hotels.com for being so efficient and helpful and the Waldorf for being such a brilliant place to stay. If you asked me whether I would stay there again the answer would be a definite yes. Staying in NY is not cheap but we could have spent the same kind of money in a different hotel and been much further out from the centre of what must be one of the most fascinating cities of the world. Just as an example, we walked three blocks to Grand Central which must rate as the most 'must see'railway station on planet earth!! As for a"

| From the time we walked in the door, we were treated with care and respect in a way we had not come to expect. The Bull and Bear restaurant was fabulous, with great value for the money. Breakfast downstairs was out of this world. The room was comfy and elegant without being stuffy. |

| Smooth check-in but after seeing first room I returned to desk to request a better one; person at desk was very helpful. The first room was on 6th floor on hall with hotel offices. The only window looked directly out on a roof with multiple large, noisy ventilators. Second was a 12th floor corner room, three windows (1 in bath), king bed instead of queen. No change in cost. They asked if I minded if tub had grab bars etc -- I didn't care. The rest of my one-night stay was fine. Waldorf rooms have ultra-traditional decor (this IS your grandparents hotel) -- I'll seek something contemporary next trip. |

| The hotel was in a great location, close to many must-see sights. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
The Bull & Bear Restaurant in the hotel was overpriced and the food was not that great. The "Captain" was actually rude, however, the waiter was extremely nice.
DO NOT ORDER ROOM SERVICE! A pepperoni pizza and small tomato mozarella salad ended up costing me $73.00 (with minimal 15 % tip).
Also, be sure to buy water as the room has none and they also do not have a coffee maker which is another inconvenience.
Overall, I would give the hotel a good rating for it's history and location. New York is expected to be expensive so that just comes with the territory! |

| This is probably THE most historic hotel in NY and it shows from the moment you walk in. The art deco style has withstood the test of time. The feeling of opulence is somewhat dampened by the throngs of tourists in fanny packs congregating in the lobby though. Service at check in was wonderful although my room was somewhat disappointing. There hasn't been sufficient upkeep on the rooms. In particular, the bathroom was clean but the sink/vanity area was literally falling apart. with the vanity door coming off the hinges. The room was small but comfortable with a queen size bed and a large, flat screen tv. I go to NY a lot and not sure I would stay again unless I needed to be in that area. It's a great location to get to the Upper East Side(right on the 6!) but there has been an influx of beautiful more modern hotels in recent years that you can get for a comperable price usually. |

| As a New Yorker no longer living in the City, the Waldorf was one of my first choices for an overnight stay as it's such a wonderful hotel. My room in The Towers was huge, impeccably furnished, the bathroom was marble and the bed was plush and incredibly comfortable. I read one reviewer's comment about the flat screen TV only pulling in an analog feed. This is true... but my goodness - you're in NYC at the famous Waldorf - who cares about the TV?? And for any other comments about the exorbitant prices at the bar or restaurants, again - this is a luxury hotel in midtown. What do you expect?? The hotel is near some great eating places and bars so there's really no excuse to feel like you're stuck paying their prices. Walk out the Lexington Ave entrance and on both Lex and on 3rd Ave are great, inexpensive places for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Best bagels in the city: Ess-a-Bagel on 3rd between 50th and 51st. There are as many cheap eats in NY as there are highly upscale, expensive dining options. But back to the hotel.... I had an absolutely lovely experience, felt completely pampered by the staff, the accommodations, and the aura of the grand hotel. It's in a class of its own. |

| Everything was wonderful as always. My husband and I have made the Waldorf our other home when we come to NYC. it is perfectly located, we know all the hot spots in the area and this hotel is magnificent. |

| The room was the largest I've ever stayed in in NYC. Hotel was well positioned in midtown and the staff was expectional. |
