| I spent a lovely day in Washington Square. The people at the front desk were helpful. The room was small but fine. Given the fact that all decent hotels are going to cost more here than in most other places i am very content with this hotel. |

| The hotel was recommended because it was near my meetings. Good choice for other reasons – near subway stops for at least two different lines, good restaurants (Bar Pitti) and pastry, dessert shop (Rocco's), UPS store, sundries and such.
Room was quiet, cozy, well-appointed. Staff was wonderful. Elevator and halls were snug with large luggage. |

| We loved the location and the proximity to subways. This hotel was a great find, and although a bit expensive for the size of the room, was clean and the staff was courteous and helpful. |

| The hotel is very clean, staff was friendly, and place looks cool as renovated art deco. Terrific location for anything in Greenwich Village. Only drawback is that the rooms are VERY small. We stayed two nights but more than that might have made us a little claustrophobic. |

| This hotel was very clean and any problem we had was fixed in a timely manner!! The location was amazing! Everything was with in a walking distance away! Parking was near by also. |

| Cons: The room was tiny and the hallways were narrow, not fun for the claustrophobic. No wireless internet in your room, but they do provide an ethernet cable. One of the doormen was nice and the other not so much- He made me feel stupid when I asked for directions and was really annoyed when I asked him to help me hail a cab in front of the hotel, isn't that their job??
Pros: Good room for the money, great location with fun restaurants surrounding it, they provide breakfast and the rooms are comfortable. |

| My wife and I stayed at the WSH for a week in June '07. If you're looking for a great location, this hotel can't be beat. It's in the heart of the Village. It's across the street from the Mario Batali's restaurant Babbo. It's catacorner from Washington Square Park and one block from 6th Avenue and the subway. There were two annoyances when I was there. First of all, they have one tiny elevator to serve the hotel. The hotel is small but it is 9 floors and the elevator waits were pretty unbearable. I was on the 6th floor and I opted to walk up on two different occasions. However, they appeared to be working on installing another elevator so that may change in the near future. My second problem with the Washington Square Hotel relates to the service. Housekeeping negelected to make up my room on two successive days. The first day, I called the front desk. They apologized and promptly brought me clean towels. The second day, my wife and I left the room at 8am and didn't return until 3:30pm but our room was still not done. I went down to the front desk and told them that my room still hadn't been cleaned. We had arrived on Sunday, this was Tuesday afternoon. The clerk was verrry nonchalant and told me I had to be patient because they sometimes don't clean rooms until 4pm. I understand that but for a room that hasn't been cleaned in 48 hours you'd think they'd have a sense of urgency. However, I didn't complain. My wife and I went and got a cup of coffee for an hour to let housekeeping do their thing. The room was clean when we returned. I'm pretty laid back and non-confrontational so I didn't say anything but I was really P-O'ed. Hence this review. Overall, location and rooms: YEAH! Service: BOO! |
