Recent Wyndham Garden Midtown Convention Review: "I can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was at Wyndham. I booked this hotel after reading all of the great reviews, and I was not disappointed. I was able to drop my car off right in front of the hotel, where the very friendly valet helped us with our luggage and pointed to the garage literally 200 feet down the street where my car would be  parked during our stay. Once inside, checkin was a breeze. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating, including the conceirge service. I will say I was a bit concerned to find that our room was directly next to the elevators, because I was worried we'd hear a lot of noise at night. Quite the opposite - this was the quietest hotel I've ever stayed at! We didn't hear anything during the evening hours. The beds were very comfortable, which is important to me because I frequently have lower back pain. I slept through the night with no discomfort. The only thing I would change about the room is that the door to the bathroom would not stay open on its own. It was like it was on hydraulics to close automatically. We would prop the door open with our suitcases after showering just to get some cool air into the bathroom. But otherwise, the room was very comfortable. Small, as can be expected in NYC, but all of our needs were met. The staff did a great job keeping our room clean and welcoming. The hotel was about a 5-10 minute walk from Times Square, and only a block or two from the pickup sites for the city tour buses. We found some great restaurants and bars in the area. The hotel bar was also great - we went there for a nightcap one evening, and the bar staff was great. When we checked out, it only took about 10 minutes to get our car from the garage. For others who might use the valet service - payment is due to the garage attendent who returns your vehicle, the charge is not put on your room bill.
